There is no more fitting person to receive the very first award than the man it’s named after — Joe Fontana. Joe has been a cornerstone of our branch. His generosity, his work ethic, his love for this community, and his willingness to step up whenever needed have impacted every one of us. He sets the standard for what it means to serve with humility and heart.

Purpose of the Award:
Established in honor of Joe Fontana, this award recognizes individuals who embody the true spirit of volunteerism within Italian Catholic Federation Branch 246. It celebrates those who give their time, heart, and dedication to strengthening our community, uplifting our members, and carrying forward the mission and values of the ICF.
Award Description:
The Joe Fontana Community Stewardship Award is presented annually to a member who:

Demonstrates exceptional volunteer service

Works selflessly to build community and unity within our branch

Contributes to the growth, engagement, and vitality of Branch 246

Leads with humility, compassion, and a servant’s heart

Upholds the traditions, faith, and family values of the Italian Catholic Federation
Selection Process:
Recipients are nominated by fellow members and selected by the Branch 246 leadership team based on volunteer contributions made throughout the year.
Frequency:
Presented annually at the end of each calendar year.
